Understanding Lines and Lofting

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Using slides, the presentation walks through an understanding of how designer's lines plans work and the "why" of lofting, and why people shouldn't have any anxiety about the process. The slide presentation focuses on a simple 12' Paul Gartside powerboat, but the concepts are applicable to any boat.

Tom Jackson

Tom Jackson, senior editor of WoodenBoat, has had a lifelong interest in boatbuilding and maritime history. In 1997, he moved from Astoria, Oregon, to Maine to combine his background in journalism with his passion for boats. He sails an 18' No Mans Land boat of his own construction.
