Wooden boats are not for the weak of heart. When former Festival director and around the world sailor Kaci Cronkhite got the email about a boat for sale in Victoria BC, she knew better than to buy it. Yet, smitten by the buxom curves of the 1936 Danish spidsgatter named PAX, she did. What happened next is a tale of love, loss and laughter - and a journey unexpected.

Kaci Cronkhite is author of the just released book, Finding PAX: the unexpected journey of a little wooden boat. For ten years, until 2011, she served as director of the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival and in executive roles for the Wooden Boat Foundation and Northwest Maritime Center.
